PEPSI SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP 2005

In order to revive the traditional nurseries of cricket, PCB in collaboration with PEPSI, have organized an all Pakistan Schools Championship that is currently being played in all nine regions. This year, 467 schools are participating in the PEPSI Schools Championship. The first round will be completed by 15th May and thereafter the winning schools in each region will play a final round with the finals taking place at Gaddafi Stadium in May/June.

The following are the main features of the PEPSI Schools Championship:

• Sub-committees including the representatives of District Cricket Associations have already been established in nine regions to coordinate with RDOs/RDMs.
• The first round will be played in a limited overs format while the regional round and final will be played on traditional lines.
• Talented youngsters will be selected for coaching in the Regional and National Academies.
• Both government and private schools are participating in the Championship.
• The winning school will play the Sri Lankan School’s Champion.

The PCB has announced that any school that fields over-age or unqualified players will be dealt with severely if found guilty of breach of regulations.
