PCB Chairman, Mr. Shaharyar M. Khan, has been negotiating the opening of a Pakistan Room at the newly developed stand at the Oval. Mr. Shaharyar M. Khan visited Glasgow on Saturday, 9 July and held meetings with Pakistani entrepreneurs in an effort to sponsor funds for the Pakistan Room. Mr. Shaharyar M. Khan, who was High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1987 for four years, is well known to Pakistani entrepreneurs and feels confident that he would be successful in having a room dedicated to Pakistan at the Oval. The Chairman PCB underlined the fact that Pakistan has a special association with the Oval as it celebrated its first overseas test victory at the ground in August 1954.
The Chairman Stated that Pakistan Room would be dedicated to the memory of Fazal Mahmood who died recently in Lahore.
