Media Release - 24 August 2005 1. The President presided over a meeting at the President's Camp Office in Rawalpindi today on the strategy for the World Cup 2007 to be held in the West Indies. 2. The meeting was attended by Chairman PCB, Director Board Operations Abbas Zaidi, Coach Bob Woolmer and National Team Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, former Test player Zaheer Abbas and senior cricket administrators were also invited to the meeting. 3. At the outset, Chairman PCB gave a multi media presentation outlining PCB's proposals for achieving success at the next World Cup. 4. During the presentation President asked pointed questions relating to the plan of action. 5. The briefing was followed by an interactive and constructive discussion on the strategy outlined by Chairman PCB. 6. The President approved measures taken by PCB to prepare the national team for the top event. The President also appreciated the mark improvement in the team’s performance in recent months and appreciated the role of Board management, Coach Bob Woolmer and Captain Inzamamul Haq for their contribution in transforming the players into a fighting unit. 7. The President underlined the importance of discipline, fitness and building up reserve players for the World Cup. 8. The meeting lasted 90 minutes.
