Media Release - 14 September 2005 CM to inaugurate 'Fair Play for Girls' Women's Cricket Match Lahore, Wednesday September 14: Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi will be the Chief Guest at a women's cricket match being organised by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Pakistan Cricket Board Women Wing (PCBWW) and the Education Department, Govt of Punjab at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Thursday September 15 to launch the 'Fair Play for Girls' campaign. 'Fair play for Girls' is a collaborative campaign by UNICEF, PCBWW and the Education Department, Government of Punjab focusing on the rights of girls to education and to play. With an audience of more than 10,000 school and college girls and guests, a 25-over-a-side cricket match will be played between PCB Women Greens and PCB Women Whites, comprising probables from which the national women side would be selected. The Education Minister Punjab, Mian Imran Masood will preside over the inauguration ceremony at 10:00 am while the closing ceremony would take place at 3:30 pm. During the lunch break, a game of 'Quick Cricket' will be played between young girls from different schools of Lahore. Ambassador of Norway, Mr Janis Bjorn Kanavin will be the Guest of Honour for this particular game.
