DateLine: 2nd October 2006 Media Release - 2 October 2006 PCB Level 1 Physical Trainer's Course Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is conducting the first Level 1 Trainer's Certification Course to be held in Pakistan. The course will take place in three different regions during the month of November, 2006. The objective of this course is to identify and educate trainers whose services can be utilized by PCB in their respective cricket regions in the future. At the conclusion of the course, after clearing theoretical and practical testing and completing the required practical hours, participants will be certified as PCB Level 1 Trainers. Applicants for the Level 1 Trainer's Course are required to complete the application sheet which can be obtained from the PCB Regional Development Officer (RDO) in their cricket region. The completed application forms must be returned to the respective RDOs. Applicants will then be short-listed and contacted if they are successful in their application. Application forms will be available from PCB RDOs from 3 October, 2006 onwards and on the PCB website www.pcb.com.pk. Application forms need to be returned to the respective RDOs no later than 20 October, 2006. Successful applicants will be contacted by 28 October, 2006. Criteria for Prospective Trainers Candidates applying for the Level 1 Trainer's Course must fulfill the following requirements: - Individuals must be eager to learn and apply what they learn. - Candidates should have some form of strength and conditioning qualification, i.e. either a diploma or certificate. Or Candidates should have acquired sufficient practical experience training individuals in a gym environment. A minimum of one (1) year gym training experience is required. - Applicants can have participated in the previous trainer's course held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. - Individuals should be physically fit and able to demonstrate exercises. - Candidates should preferably have a good understanding of the game of cricket and the physical requirements needed to participate in the sport. - Applicants should preferably have a basic understanding of the English language and be able to communicate in English. - Individuals should have a basic knowledge of computers. This is not definitive requirement but will be useful for future correspondence with the NCA.
