Pakistan selected as Secretarial Headquarters for Cricket World Cup 2011

Pakistan was unanimously selected to establish the centre for Secretarial Headquarter of World Cup 2011 to be held in Sub-Continent. This was decided during the meeting in New Delhi, India on December 11, 2006.
Dr Nasim Ashraf, Chairman PCB has been appointed as convener for the World Cup, whereas Mr Sharad Pawar has been appointed as Chairman of Central Organising Committee.
The first meeting of Central Organising Committee will be held in Murree from May 18 to 20 in this regard.
Chairman PCB said, "We are thankful to the host nations for their confidence in choosing Pakistan to be the headquarters for Secretariat for the World Cup 2011." Furthermore, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Dr Nasim Ashraf said, "We will put up a world-class high performane team, plan and design the best-ever spectator friendly World Cup to date."
"Not only will this be a big boost for tourism in all of South Asia but will also give Pakistan an opportunity to share with the World its rich culture and heritage", said Ashraf.
