DateLine: 13th February 2008 Media Release - 13 February 2008 The Pakistan Cricket Board has given reassurance and offered complete support to the aggrieved family of late cricketer Rahat Ullah. The Chairman PCB, Dr Nasim Ashraf had a telephonic contact with the father of late Rahat Ullah yesterday. Dr Ashraf extended his heartfelt condolences and reassured him that the Board would provide full support to the family in the whole investigation process ensuring that a prompt and just action is taken against the assailants who are at this point, unknown. The Chairman also instructed the PCB’s regional representative Anwarzeb to visit the family of Rahat Ullah and handover an amount of RS. 100,000/- to meet the urgent needs. Since the late cricketer was included in the list of twenty getting the regional retainer-ship from PCB, the Chairman has also instructed the management to continue disbursing the monthly compensation to his family till the time his one-year contract expires. Rahat Ullah, a budding fast medium bowler from Peshawar aged 18, who had represented Pakistan at the Under 19 level, was found dead a couple of days ago in Peshawar.
