DateLine: 3rd July 2008 Media Release - 3 July 2008 The Asia Cricket Council marks its Silver Jubilee year with a seminar at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi on July 5th. The time is to celebrate Asia's achievements on and off the field in the past 25 years and to look forward to the next twenty-five. Asian Cricket Council Chief Executive Syed Ashraful Huq was a founding member of the ACC and says' "Many of us present at the birth of the ACC in 1983 are still active in cricket administration, and those of us that are stand on the shoulders of giants. More than that, it was the very notion that Bangaldesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka would be united in a single endeavour that was inspiring. And what has been most influential." The seminar is divided into three modules: Past: The History of Asian Cricket and Asian Legends will be led by current ACC President Arjuna Ranatunga and the Key note speaker will be Wasim Akram. Present: The impact of Asian Cricket on the Cricket World will be led by PCB Chariman Dr. Nasim Ashraf and key note speaker will be Kumar Sangakkara. Future: Asia, The Commercial Centre of Cricket; T20 Scenario will be led by BCCI President Shashank Manohar and key note speaker will be ECB Chairman Giles Clarke.
